DAKOTA CAMPBELL

An 8-Part Premium Dramatic series set during the US-Dakota War of 1862.

Based on actual events and our actual family.

For centuries, European fur traders and native Americans lived in peace, intermarrying and enjoying mutually beneficial relationships. As more and more immigrants came from the old country seeking a new life, tensions grew and an ancient way of life was increasingly threatened.

Set against the backdrop of the American Civil War, and told from the native's perspective, Dakota Campbell is the story of a lesser known war and one mixed-blood family's struggle against inexorable historical and familial forces. The story culminates with the horror of one family member, Baptiste Scott Campbell, being one of the 38 Dakota hung in the largest mass execution in U.S. history on December 26, 1862 in Mankato, Minnesota.

Told by a descendant of the executed man, Dakota Campbell weaves themes of heroism, treachery and ultimately forgiveness through a saga that will touch and appeal to those interested in stories of the American frontier, fans of western movies, and history buffs.
